February 2026 transformed WhatsApp from a messaging app into a commerce platform. WhatsApp Flows — interactive, app-like experiences inside chat — enabled full purchase journeys: product browsing, cart management, payment, and order tracking, all without leaving the chat.

For a fashion brand, we built a WhatsApp Flow that allowed customers to browse the new collection, add items to cart, pay via Apple Pay, and receive tracking updates — all in one conversation.

Conversion rate from Flow sessions was 18%, compared to 3.2% from website traffic campaigns. The friction reduction was massive: no app downloads, no account creation, no password resets.

The Flow also collected zero-party data: style preferences, size history, and budget ranges — all volunteered by users during the experience.

WhatsApp Ads (Click-to-WhatsApp) became the primary acquisition channel driving users into Flows. The cost per WhatsApp conversation was 40% lower than cost per website click, and the conversion rate was 5.6X higher.

For KSA specifically, WhatsApp commerce made sense culturally — Saudi consumers already used WhatsApp for business communication.
